ABOUT ME

I’m a photographer and visual artist based in Santa Fe, NM, shaped by a lifelong connection to image-making. I grew up working alongside my father, Kurt Markus, known for his iconic cowboy photography and timeless portraiture. From early days in the darkroom to co-directing the documentary It’s About You-

a Super 8 film chronicling John Mellencamp’s tour and album recording-I’ve always been drawn to storytelling that feels raw, real, and unfiltered.

With a degree in Graphic Design from Montana State University and a deep respect for both analog and digital processes, my work explores the quiet, often overlooked moments that speak the loudest. Whether I’m photographing people, places, or the space between them, I aim to create images that feel

lived-in, honest, and human.
